Join the National Sports Center for the Disabled and other area Families for a BBQ and lake day filled with kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, beach games, and our NSCD obstacle course. families will try all activities in a noncompetitive, “challenge by choice” environment allowing them to experience each activity with instruction, full instructor support, and adaptive systems. This will help athletes of any ability be successful and safe when exploring each activity. At this program you will have the chance to socialize and network with other families like your own and explore and learn about some of the activity options offered to families throughout the summer. Come join us for one of our most popular programs, a lake paddle day! During the day at the lake, participants learn water safety and paddling skills in a beautiful environment. Participants can choose from canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. We suggest wearing a swimsuit or shorts and try to avoid wearing jeans or sweats. Participants must wear PFD at all times while participating in the program (the PFDF's will be provided by the NSCD). This program is free to military veterans with a disability!

Join our team of white water guides on a fast passed paddle adventure on Clear Creek. Paddle in hand, your boat will traverse Class III rapids as you descend from Idaho Springs down to the top of Clear Creek Canyon. Family members may join but must register separately and pay the $85/person half day raft fee. Family member reservation fees are NOT covered by the VA grant that underwrites Military participant participation.
