Camps

This four-day camp for participants with developmental delays promotes independence and camaraderie. This is not an overnight camp. Laugh and learn while participating in activities such as hiking, archery, NSCD Moves, horseback riding, lake day fun, fishing, and Winter Park Resort activities. Campers are introduced to new skills and activities by highly trained staff. Participants who are not independent in self-care must supply a personal care provider who is available to them throughout the length of the camp.

September 9 – 12: 18+ years old

Love horses? Join us at the NSCD Therapeutic Riding Center for a camp that includes learning to groom, tack and ride a horse. New skills learned in the arena will be enhanced while out on daily trail rides. Participants who are not independent in self-care must supply a personal care provider who is available to them throughout the length of the camp. This is not an overnight camp. **Maximum rider weight is 200 lbs.

During this camp athletes will explore the Front Range through a variety of outdoor recreation experiences including canoeing, kayaking, archery, outdoor rock climbing and white-water paddling. At the National Sports Center for the Disabled we rethink ability through personal challenge in the enriching atmosphere of the outdoors. Through these experiences participants can learn important lessons about themselves and others, find new healthy hobbies/activities, increase their overall fitness/quality of life, and meet new friends and have fun.

Teen Camp: 13-17 years of age
Youth Camp: 6-12 years of age

Join the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) for a fun day of skiing! This day camp is designed for participants with spinal cord injuries. Spend a day learning and building skills on the slopes of Winter Park Resort! Transportation from Denver and a group lunch is provided.

This camp is offered to women (18 and up) who are looking for an opportunity to partake in three days of mountain activities. We will spend the beautiful falls days horseback riding, mastering archery skills, hiking, floating on beautiful Grand Lake, and white water rafting on the Upper Colorado River. You bring the spirit of adventure and we’ll provide everything else, including an experienced and fun female staff. NSCD will provide transportation to activities from YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch. Activities are subject to change depending on weather. Lodging and meals not included. * If the minimum number of campers is not met 7 days prior to a camp, the camp will be canceled.

Learn the basics of mountain biking or prefect your technique. This camp will focus on cross country mountain bike skills and exploration. NSCD has a variety of adaptive bikes to best fit your needs, including power assist hand cycles!
