The NSCD offers adaptive bike programs in the Denver and Grand County areas! Both locations offer private and group lessons on a fleet of state-of-the-art power assist adaptive bikes. Different adaptive biking options are available - hand cycles, fat tire bikes, recumbent bikes and mountain bikes with adaptations.

The NSCD Bike program will provide the means for people to ride bikes who usually wouldn’t have the ability too.  Like our alpine skiing model, we will enable an activity to individuals who need specialized equipment and instruction.  This will in turn allow people to be empowered and capable of places and feelings they were lacking before.

 A participant must be under 200 pounds with all gear on.  

A participant is a good candidate if they exhibit the following characteristics:   

  1. Have a spinal cord injury or any other condition which effects participants ability to move their back and lower body. 

  1. Uses a wheelchair, stroller, or any other device that assists in ambulating from a seated position. 

  1. Is unable to walk independently or with assistive devices.  

  1. Needs balance support. 

  1. Needs coordination support.
